Mysteries of Love
Synopsis

This is a love story between a professor and a policewoman. Their dating experience is enhanced with sense and sensibility through the application of interesting physics theories on the investigation of various crime cases.

KING POK (Raymond Lam) is regarded as the youngest genius in physics and he is appointed as an associate professor in a Hong Kong university. Invited by his good friend LO TIN-HANG (Kenneth Ma), Senior Inspector of Police at Regional Crime Unit, POK assists in cracking many mysterious crime cases and he also meets the policewoman CHUI SIU-LAI (Tavia Yeung) during the process. The rational POK evaluates that he has fallen in love with LAI because of a love hormone called “phenylalanine”. However, owing to the huge difference in their family background and life value, POK fails to tackle their ever-changing relationship problems with formulas.

On the other hand, the romantic and uninhibited HANG has been maintaining a sex only relationship with the journalist LING MAN-KA (Bernice Liu) HANG doesn’t believe in eternity and he is only looking for sensual pleasure in a woman. However, his belief is suddenly shattered when he learns that MAN is going to get married.

Hi guys, Chibi here!
I just wanted to take this chance to share some pretty cool news with you lot :)

Do you remember the [Beyond the Realm of Conscience 宮心計] chibi dolls I posted up a while ago?

Ivy from the Charmaine Sheh Malaysian Fan Club got in touch with me about 2 weeks ago and asked if she could use my chibi Lau Sam Ho drawing as a design for a cake! Charmaine was visiting Malaysia that weekend for the Skinz infinite Meet & Greet Event, and the cake was going to be a present from her Malaysian fans.

I was absolutely thrilled to hear it actually went ahead and Charmaine Sheh got the cake with my drawing on it!! Check this out and click here to see the original.

Love the whole idea about love and science- its a really nicely put-together promotional clip with the mirrors, reflections and Raymond’s confusion about love. You can also hear a bit of Raymond’s themesong playing !! I can’t wait for its release on 24 May 2010!

I’ve just finished watching the movie last night and found it quite entertaining :) As most of you probably already know, this movie was released during Chinese New Year in February earlier in the year and now available on DVD!

The highlight in the series was definitely the cameo appearances of the many many TVB artist! Special mention to Bernice Liu & Ron Ng’s look in the series! They were a total crack up! I really liked the 1960s scene at the start of the movie too- Charmaine’s portrayal as the landlord was entertaining!

72 Tenants of Prosperity

Extract about the movie:
An homage to the 1973 Shaw Brothers classic House of 72 Tenants, the 2010 all-star comedy 72 Tenants of Prosperity packs in well more than 72 stars into its hilarious lineup. Leading a huge ensemble cast of over 100 actors, Jacky Cheung and Eric Tsang feud away as immature rival shop owners, with Anita Yuen, Stephy Tang, and TVB stars Bosco Wong, Linda Chung, and Wong Cho Lam playing their family members. Familiar faces and distinctly Hong Kong humor occupy every corner of the movie, making 72 Tenants of Prosperity the perfect successor to the film that inspired it, and to the Lunar New Year comedy tradition.

Kung (Eric Tsang) and Kin’s (Jacky Cheung) rivalry goes way back to the seventies when they fought over the same girl, who eventually became Kung’s wife (Anita Yuen). Now they run competing phone stores right across from each other on Mongkok’s busiest street, and stretch their minds trying to outdo each other with crazy promotions. There’s absolutely no mixing with the enemy in these parts – until Kung and Kin’s kids fall for each other! Further chaos breaks out when the landlord triples the rent of all the shop owners to force them out for redevelopment.

A joint production from Shaw Brothers and TVB directed by Eric Tsang and Patrick Kong, 72 Tenants of Prosperity features many, many Hong Kong celebrities in supporting and cameo roles. TVB sent out practically the station’s entire roster of artists including Raymond Lam, Fala Chen, Ron Ng, Myolie Wu, Bernice Liu, Charmaine Sheh, Kate Tsui, Michael Tse, Sunny Chan, Kevin Cheng, Lawrence Ng, Joe Ma, Kenneth Ma, Derek Kwok, and Joyce Tang to name a few. And everyone from singers Justin Lo, Fama, Andy Hui, and Denise Ho to actors like Lam Suet, Gordon Lam, Dicky Cheung, Nat Chan, Sam Lee, Maggie Siu, Wayne Lai, and Prudence Liew show up for a Mongkok stroll. Even Kelly Chen makes an appearance as herself. Catching all the cameos and references in 72 Tenants of Prosperity could be the ultimate test of your Hong Kong pop culture knowledge!

[DL] Forget Myself

I’ve compiled a small list of recent songs from the TVB actors turned singers for download. Yes! I’m still around anticipating when their next album releases will be XD Here are a couple which I think might just be included in their next release :)

(Right click link->save Target As to download)

Linda Chung

  • Duet with Stephanie Cheng 愛得起 (Radio Version)

I came across this song when I saw Linda and Stephanie sing it on JSG XD Thought it sounded pretty nice :)

Bosco Wong

This song was recorded in 2008 during Bosco’s debut as an artist, however was not released/promoted until now.  The radio version is a bit annoying because it has the Dj talking through parts of the song, but we learn that Kate will be releasing an album this year, unlike Bosco who appeared to have stopped after his debut. The Dj has also mentioned that Bosco’s song was expected to be released in March 2010 which I assumed would mean a CD would be released! (It’s May already though so I’m not sure what happened to that) I guess we will just have to wait for his album release for the clear version :)

A lovely song which I first heard from Episode 3 in Don Juan DeMercado. I’m suspecting this will also be in Bosco’s next album!

Raymond Lam
:

Raymond…where are youuuuuuu! XD I miss seeing him in TVB series- its been a year without him already. I think it’s time he returned to do more acting. Can’t wait to see him in Mysteries of Love. Here’s another song which I think will be in his album release this year.  Sounds very emotional, I really like it!  The mandarin version is also released :) I wonder if Raymond will also be singing the themesong for Mysteries of Love?

Myolie Wu

Demo Version of new TVB series Sisters of Pearl. I’m absolutely in love with this song!! Can’t wait to watch the series now haha! It’s only 2mins though I was hoping it would make a full 3minute song- hopefully there’s gonna be a even longer release later. However this 2min song does stand alone as it is I guess.  The song gives me a similar feeling to that of ‘Fortunately” which she sang for TVB series “War and Destiny’.

[A Fistful of Stances] Episode 10 Snippets

A Fistful of Stances- Episode 10

This scene really reminds me of Moonlight Resonance: Epsiode 32, where the siblings were trying to cheer Raymond up and the siblings all snuggled up to Raymond and suggested doing things they always did when they were young XD

A Fistful of Stances- Episode 10

Here Stephen is upset about his breakup with YauYau when he found out her father was Dominic. It was cute to see Kevin’s reaction to them and that’s he’s starting to opening  himself up more and try to learn about his siblings  ;)

Sisters of Pearl

Synopsis

After the death of her husband, CHU PIK-HA (Jessica Hsuan) returns to her maiden home with her son, in a deliberate attempt to take over the family jewelry business from her big sister CHU PIK-WAN (Kiki Sheung). To prevent HA from getting too out of hand, WAN needs her matrilocal husband HO CHEUNG-HING (Bowie Lam) to create trouble for her sibling. HING does not follow her instructions, but instead secretly helps HA tackle her problems one by one. WAN soon comes to realize that HING has never really got over HA. WAN’s little sister CHU PIK-LAM (Macy Chan) is still attending school and too young to deal with such family issues. WAN feels a profound sense of helplessness and becomes even more frustrated when SO LAI-SHEUNG (Joyce Tang) turns up suddenly claiming to be a mistress of her late father and pregnant with his baby. Out of respect for their father, the sisters agree to put SHEUNG up for the time being until the situation becomes clearer. Shortly thereafter, HA discovers that SHEUNG is just a tool of her cousin HUNG YIU-SANG (Michael Tao), who has been plotting to wage a battle of wills against the CHUs.
